  • ¼ cup celery, chopped

  • 1 ½ cups long grain rice
  • 1 tbsp. thyme
  • ½ chili powder
  • 1 ¾ cups chicken stock (measuring liquid standard)
  • 3 tbsp. parsley, chopped
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Tabasco or another hot sauce

Instruction :

  • Put in the cooking bowl and place olive oil in it.
  • Turn on the Cuisinart 4 cup rice cooker.
  • After 1 minute, add onions, celery, green and red bell peppers also garlic.
  • Stir it until all of them cover with olive oil.
  • Then close the lid and cook for 3 until 4 minutes.
  • Add long grain, thyme and chili powder. Stir it.
  • Until the long grain opaque, add chicken stock and tomato sauce.
  • Put in the bay leaf and cook for 10 minutes
  • While waiting the cooking process, coat the steamer tray with cooking spray.
  • After that you could place shrimp and sausage on the tray.
  • Place the steaming tray on top of the cooking bowl.
  • Cook all of them until switch to warm mode. (8-10 minutes longer)
  • Don’t open the lid and wait until 5 minutes more.
  • Remove the bay leaf and toss the rice gently
  • Put the dishes in the bowl after it is warm
  • Sprinkle with parsley
  • Serve it with hot sauce (optional)
